Denise "Mugs" Brotherson

Denise Elanor Bischoff Brotherson, 59, known affectionately by her husband as "Mugs", passed away June 21, 2018, following a rafting accident just outside Denver, Colorado, where they were visiting family. Denise was born July 15, 1959, in Montrose, Colorado, to Charles Bischoff and Mignon McChesney Bischoff. She grew up and attended schools in Manitou Springs and graduated from Manitou High School. She also attended Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in accounting. While attending high school she met her later to be husband, William, who delivered her milk each week, never knowing what the future held for them. After several years, plus a very tough first marriage, she again met her true love William, neither one remembering that they knew each other from before. On October 27, 1980, she married William in Raton, New Mexico, (she married the milkman). William and Denise then decided to make their home in Ammon, Idaho, where she worked as a pet groomer. She was known by all for her gentleness and patience with animals, as well as people. She always said that she never knew a stranger, just a new friend she hadn't met yet. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as the church librarian. Denise loved white water rafting and was an avid genealogist and scrap booker. She enjoyed putt-putt golf, pistol/rifle shooting and spending quiet time in the mountains. Denise is survived by her loving husband, William Brotherson of Ammon, ID; son, Adam (Gillings) Brotherson of Denver, CO; son, Sebastian Brotherson of Mansfield, OH; stepson, Jeffery Brotherson of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Andrea Wykel of Albuquerque, NM; her favorite uncle Keith (Barbara) Bischoff of Duluth, MN; parents-in-Law, Floyd and Gayle Brotherson of Overton, NV; brother-in-law, Lynn (Skip) Brotherson of Price, UT; brother-in-law, Dan (Cindy) Brotherson of Price, UT; sister-in-law, Debbie Brotherson of Elmo, UT; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Alan, her daughter Amber Irene, her parents Charles and Mignon Bischoff, and her stepmother, Irene Jentze. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Ammon LDS 10th Ward, 4375 E. Sunnyside Road. The family will visit with friends following the services.
