Craig Pugh

Craig William “CW” Pugh passed away on September 15, 2023, in Denver, Colorado. He was 76 years old.

Craig was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, the middle of three brothers. His parents eventually settled in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Craig graduated from Idaho Falls High School. After enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1965, Craig proudly served his country for the rest of his career, retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Craig met his wife of 54 years, Sharon Ruth Wagoner, after returning home from active duty. They were soon married in 1969, and had two children, Cindy and Michael. Craig had a big heart and an outgoing personality. He was direct and hard-working, and he shared his values with his children and his granddaughter. Craig loved animals, especially his dogs, and he was a devoted fisherman, loving fly-fishing for trout, taking his boat onto the local lake, and halibut- and salmon-fishing in Alaska. Craig shared his love of the outdoors with his family during many treasured summer vacations spent camping, hiking, and sightseeing across the Western United States. In addition to the outdoors, he enjoyed history, poker, vacations to Hawaii, and accompanying his father-in-law to farrier events so he could continue to attend them into his 90s.

Craig is preceded in death by his son, Michael Pugh; his parents, William and Jean Pugh; his brother, Robert Pugh; and his parents-in-law, Roy and Lorraine Wagoner. He will always be missed by his wife, Sharon Pugh; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Russell Drake; granddaughter, Evelyn Drake; brother, Bradford Pugh; and his many friends.
