Larry Lee Lane, 81, of Rigby, passed away June 18, 2019, at his home.
Larry was born September 24, 1937, in Smith Center, Kansas, to Viron V. Lane and Hazel Griffin Lane. He grew up and attended schools in Gooding and graduated from Gooding High School. He was in the Navy for two years, then joined the Army and served as an Aviation Mechanic during the Vietnam War.
On November 3, 1993, he married Martha Rhoades in Rigby, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty years, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the VFW Post 1004. He enjoyed camping, fishing, guns, trains, RC airplanes. He was a pilot, loved his family and church.
Larry is survived by his son, Jeff (Brenda) Lane of Rigby, ID; daughter, Diane Lane of Idaho Falls, ID; stepson, Brian Carson of Rigby, ID; brother, Jerry Lane of Moses Lake, WA; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Steven, Tyson, Tasha, Jeff (JJ), Adrienne, and Brian, and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Jack Lane; and a grandson, Michael Shoults (mother Diane).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, both at the funeral home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Rigby Veterans Post 1004 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
