Donald Mills, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 30, 2019, at his home.
Donald was born November 4, 1929, in Hoquiam, Washington, to Henry Irving Mills and Linnea Carolina Mills. He grew up and attended schools in various locations and graduated from the University of Maryland. He also attended the American University in Washington, D.C.
In a prior marriage, he and Arlene had two children, Linda Rae and Dani Lee. They were later divorced. On November 18, 1961, he married Carol Ann Enick Mills in Seaside, California. To this union were born four children, Ronald, Robert, Renea, and Richard.
Donald and Carol lived in Chitose, Japan; Berlin and Munich, Germany; and Fort Meade, Maryland, where he worked as a Russian Linguist for the United States Army, and they later retired to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donald worked in the cub scouts and boy scouts. He enjoyed camping, hiking, bicycling, and watching the news on FOX network.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mills of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Linda Rae, of Bellingham, WA; daughter, Dani Lee of Seattle , WA; son, Ronald Eugene (Dola) Mills of Anchorage, AK; son, Robert Aaron (Jeff) Mills of Tempe, AZ; daughter, Renea Ann (Greg David) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Richard Irving (Laura Jean) Mills of Annapolis, MD; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Irving Mills; and mother, Linnea Carolina Miner Mills.
A Gathering will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019, from 10-10:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) with Military Rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard at 11:00 a.m.
