IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Mary Lou Murdoch Versey passed away on November 30, 2008 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.


She was born November 15, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Brigham Dallas and Agnes Simonsen Murdoch. As a young child she lived in Grant, Roberts, Woodville, Sugar City, Hibbard, Annis, Menan, and Rigby. She moved to Shelley when she was 11 years old, where she graduated from high school in 1975.


She attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University - graduating in 1979 with a Home Economics Education degree. She taught school for two years at North Fremont High School.


She married Wayne Robert Versey on October 10, 1980 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Ashton and Basalt, moving to Jameston in 1984. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family, which included lovingly caring for her aging parents.


She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many capacities. At the time of her death she was serving in the Relief Society Presidency.


She is survived by her husband, Wayne; and children: Sara (Jason) Mathews, Joshua (Tiffany) Versey, Caleb (Sarah) Versey, Nathan (Karli) Versey, Melissa (Dan) Stark, Naomi Versey, Jacob Versey, and Rachael Versey; her mother; four sisters: Helen Hall, Ann Matesen, Ruth Schulz, and Luann Dodds; three brothers: Dallas Murdoch, Tom Murdoch, and John Murdoch; and five grandchildren: Tyler and Sadie Mathews, Benson and Grant Versey, and Addison Stark. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Ronald Murdoch.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Shelley LDS Jameston Ward, 1101 East 1250 North. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. both visitations at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave.
