IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Harold Jay Anderson, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 18, 2009, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 13, 1920, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to James C. Anderson and Martha Maud Perry Anderson. He attended schools in the area and graduated from Rigby High School in 1938. He served as a Tech-5 in the United States Army during World War II. Among the decorations he received was the Bronze Star.
He married Bernice May Lough Anderson on November 7, 1947, in Elko, Nevada. She preceded him in death on July 18, 1990. On March 23, 1996, he married Marie Louise Pilotte Gough in Idaho Falls. He was a farmer and then later in life worked at the U.S. Post Office.
Harold was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, yardwork, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice; his sister, Lucille Anderson Ormand; and three brothers, Perry J. Anderson, Ray L. Anderson, and Donald Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery with military rites by the Jefferson County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
