LoAnne Strandberg 53, of Island Park ID passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID, due to complications from cancer.
She was born Sept. 9, 1958 in Baker, MT to Larry Thompson and Helen Wintermote Thompson. She grew up and attended schools in Miles City, MT. In1973, her family moved to West Yellowstone, MT, where she attended high school.
In 1974, LoAnne married Brian Huttinger in Yellowstone National Park. LoAnne and Brian had one son, Chris Huttinger. They later moved to Gillette, WY where they lived until Brian passed away. LoAnne moved to Island Park, ID in 1984 to help with the family business, The A-Bar Motel & Supper Club. After her parents, Larry and Helen passed away, LoAnne and her sister Korre continued to own and operate the A-Bar until they sold it in 2008.
On Feb. 14th, 1991, she married Kenny Strandberg at Mesa Falls. Kenny and LoAnne made their home in Island Park where she enjoyed snowmobiling.
LoAnne was a member of the Island Park Pool League for many years. She enjoyed quilting and making plastic canvas crafts. The highlight of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.

Son, Chris (Vicki) Huttinger of Ashton, ID;
Step-daughter, Robin (Jeremy) Humbracht of Buffalo, SD;
Step-son, Jesse Strandberg of Longmont, CO;
Sister, Korre Thompson of Island Park, ID;
Brother, Monte Thompson of Rapid City, SD;
Brother, Harlee (Judy) Thompson of Billings, MT;
Grandchildren: Brian, Mark, and Connor of Ashton, ID; Shania and Kendra of Buffalo, SD; and Summer and Bryson of Longmont, CO;
as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her first husband, and her beloved dog Fluffy.
A celebration of LoAnne’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at their home: 3407 Eagle Ave. Island Park, ID. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or online at www.cancer.org.
