Charles Robert “Uncle Bob” Andrus, age 76, of Ucon, passed away July 21, 2014, at his home.

Bob was born September 1, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Samuel Reed Andrus and Melba Phyllis Brown Andrus. He attended schools in Ucon and Ammon and graduated from Bonneville High School. He served as a Private First Class in the U. S. Army Reserve. He attended Ricks College and Idaho State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He was selected from a group of educators to represent the State of Idaho at Royalton College in Vermont.

On September 1, 1961, he married Jean Caroline McBride in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Bob was a school teacher for 34 years in the community. This is where he received his nickname “Uncle Bob,” from his beloved students. He can be found on the “Wall of Fame” at Bonneville High School as “Teacher of the Year.” He also spent most of his life farming in the Ucon area.

Bob was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two and a half year mission in The Netherlands.
