Daniel Amos Williams, 71, of Menan, passed away April 12, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Amos was born July 15, 1952, in Rigby, Idaho, to Daniel Findlay Williams and Ruth Ann Harker Williams. He grew up in Lewisville, Idaho, and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School in 1970. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1976.
On June 18, 1976, he married LaRae Poole in Lewisville. Amos and LaRae made their home in Menan, Idaho, where Amos owned and operated Williams Body Shop in Menan and then purchased his shop in Rigby. Amos worked for the City of Menan, retiring in 2014.
Amos is a great father and loves his sons. He loves his friends and family, never leaving without sharing jokes and funny stories. He was always leaving us laughing.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed golfing and welding “crafts.” He loved sharing his hand made wooden and metal items with those he loved.
Amos is survived by his wife of 47 years, LaRae Williams of Menan, ID; sons, Craig Williams of Palm Springs, CA and Dylan Williams of Menan, ID; and brother, Myron (Karen) Williams of Rigby, ID.
He was preceded in death by his son, Levi Williams; parents, Daniel and Ruth Williams; brothers, Alma and Parley Williams; sisters, Donna Godfrey and Marilee Despain; and father-in-law, Glen Poole.
A Gathering for friends and family will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery at 12 Noon where Military Honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
