
VERA RUIZ
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Elvira "Vera" Gutierrez Ruiz, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 25, 2008, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1930, in Chandler, Arizona, to Sacarias Gutierrez and Maria Badilla Gutierrez. She grew up and attended schools in Chandler. She lived in Chandler until 1988, when she moved to Yerington, Nevada for 11 years. She lived in Rigby for six years before moving to Idaho Falls three years ago.
She married Rudolph Figueroa Ruiz September 2, 1963, in Chandler, Arizona. They were later divorced. She was a homemaker and mother and also owned a restaurant, worked in sales, and was a day care provider. In Nevada she worked in housekeeping and sterile processing at South Lyon Medical Center.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and the Rosary Makers. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and making rosaries.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Anna Ruiz-Gruwell, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Teresa (Savino) Palomarez, Smith Valley, NV
Sister: Lena Nava, Tempe, AZ
Sister: Molly Wells, Mesa, AZ
1 Granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lydia Rodriguez, and three brothers, Fernando Gutierrez, Patrick Gutierrez, and Ray Gutierrez.
Rosary Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 9th & Lee, with Memorial Mass following at 10:30 a.m.
