DELLA FOLSOMIDAHO FALLS, ID - Della Thomas Folsom died December 28, 2004.
She was born November 6, 1927, to David Leo and Mary Naomi Thomas in Malad, Idaho. She spent her early years in Malad, eventually moving to Idaho Falls. She attended Idaho Falls High School.
In 1945 she married Harry Folsom in Idaho Falls, where they continued to make their home until 1961, when they moved to Ririe, owning and operating Gateway Service until 1971, when they retired. They maintained their home in Ririe but spent most of their time in Island Park, where they built and sold several cabins. She loved spending time in Island Park, snowmobiling, fishing and watching “her squirrels.”
In 1980 they started wintering in Arizona, where she learned to love the desert seasons. Della and Harry square danced for many years with the Promenaders Square Dance Club and various clubs in Arizona and shared many memories of traveling and dancing with the friends they made in square dancing.
She cherished her family and loved spending time with them. Her grandchildren DeeDee and Shane Fisher share many memories of camping and fishing with “Ga” and Grandpa.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Folsom of Ririe. Her children Sherrie (Linzy) Fisher of Ririe and Ron (Leslie) Folsom of Ammon, her grandchildren, DeeDee (Matt) Fisher of Charlottesville, Virginia, Shane (Nicolle) Fisher of Ammon and one great grandchild, Andrew Cook Fisher of Ammon; two brothers, Kenneth (Carmen) Thomas of Ucon, Danny (Janelle) Thomas of Sugar City; one sister, Sharon Drowns of Ammon. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Klofkorn and her parents.
Cremation is under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Private Memorial services will be held in Island Park in the summer of 2005.
