DORTHA "DOROTHY" GENTLE

IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Dortha Rose "Dorothy" Gentle, 85, of Rigby, died October 4, 2002, at Madison Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 27, 1917 in Teton City, Idaho to Hyrum Hope and Thelma Gardner Hope. She attended schools in Sugar-Salem, Idaho.

She married Earl D. Gentle on October 24, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived their lives in Idaho Falls except for two years spent in the Dillon, Montana area. He preceded her in death September 29, 1986.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a visiting teacher. She enjoyed reading, growing flowers, embroidery and belonged to a needlecraft club.

14 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Nancy Gentle, a sister, Margie Jenkins, a brother, Reese W. Hope, and a grandson, Brock Morgan.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge, with Bishop Wayne A. Jensen of the Idaho Falls LDS Old Butte Ward officiating.

Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
